  • Children vs Labels: What do we mean by Special Educational Needs, English as an Additional Language and what else do we need to know about the children we teach?
  • Assessment for Learning: How we can build a profile of our SEND/ EAL pupils that helps us to address their needs while supporting the whole class
  • Can do vs Can’t do: How we can have the biggest impact on SEND/ EAL pupils’ learning through Quality First Teaching (QFT)
  • Proven to work and practical: What approaches support SEND/ EAL pupils to make amazing progress in mainstream classrooms, how it helps all your pupils and why OFSTED will praise you for it?
  • QFT vs Intervention: What is most effective, when do we do interventions and what will make the most difference?
  • Pulling in the same direction: How we can use additional staffing to further our SEND/ EAL pupils progress!
